    2. Why This Matters

AEMO’s mission is to create pathways into emergency management — especially for students and professionals with 0–3 years of experience, individuals from underrepresented backgrounds, and those who face barriers to entering the field.

    This scholarship:

    • Reduces financial barriers
    • Supports multilingual and equity-focused education
    • Strengthens the EM workforce
    • Helps students gain skills that directly benefit their communities

Your contribution helps build a more resilient, diverse, and skilled emergency management profession.

    3. Scholarship Eligibilty Requirements

    Eligible applicants typically include:

    • Individuals with 0–3 years of emergency management experience
    • Students enrolled in or planning to enroll in Pierce College IDRR courses
    • Individuals from historically marginalized or underrepresented groups in emergency management
    • U.S. residents (international students: case-by-case depending on course availability)

    5. How It Works

    1. AEMO raises scholarship funds through community donations and partnerships.
    2. Funds are reserved specifically for tuition support through Pierce College IDRR.
    3. Students apply via a short scholarship application (coming soon).
    4. AEMO reviews applications based on need, interest, and EM career goals.
    5. Selected students receive tuition support directly applied to Pierce College IDRR courses.

    6. Transparency & Stewardship

AEMO is committed to clear, honest stewardship of all scholarship donations. 80% of every donation is allocated directly to the Scholarship Fund, while 20% supports essential administrative and program costs. Scholarship recipients may receive up to $1,145 to cover all courses or may choose individual courses based on their subject interests. Annual impact summaries will be shared with donors.
